Piers Morgan at centre of £10m bidding war between News UK and GB News

Piers Morgan is at the centre of a £10million bidding war between News UK and GB News for his services.

And that could see the motormouth presenter heading back to the United States if Rupert Murdoch recruits him for Fox News, his US network.

Piers sensationally quit Good Morning Britain this week after his controversial comments about Meghan Markle.

But it seems the 55-year-old’s stock is higher than ever as broadcasters clammer to secure his signature.

A TV source explained to the Mirror: “People love his honesty, even the people that don’t like him, they can’t help but be interested in what he says.

Piers has dominated the headlines following his Good Morning Britain exit

“He has had millions of pounds worth of offers. He turned GMB into a ratings hit, it seems everything he touches turns to gold.

“Some of the offers have hit the £10million mark, and it seems he may be able to land exactly what he wants.”

Piers earns an estimated £3milllon a year with ITV, but he could become Rupert Murdoch’s upcoming “opinionated” News UK TV figurehead.

All smiles: Piers looks untroubled by the media storm surrounding him

But Piers could also be heading to the US if Murdoch offers him a job with Fox News.

Piers looked relaxed this week despite the media storm surrounding his shock GMB exit.

And despite his outspoken views, the experienced presenter has a huge fanbase, some of whom have created petitions calling for him to be reinstated to the popular breakfast show.

Wanted Piers has since stressed he will not return to GMB, so it will be interesting to see his next move.

GB News chairman Andrew Neil offered Piers a job live on TV and has no doubts the host will be a ratings winner for his channel, which launches this year.

Piers could be in line for a whopping £10million pay day

But sources close to Piers say he is considering a return to the States where he fronted his own show on CNN for three years.

And it is also believed X-factor and music mogul Simon Cowell is interested in signing Piers on a big-money contract.

Piers has appeared on Britain’s Got Talent programme and would likely be a big draw for viewers.
