Loose Women panelists Coleen Nolan and Ruth Langsford shared some banter on today’s episode after Coleen told her co-presenters to ‘shut up’ whilst they discussed the new Covid variant, and Ruth called Coleen her ‘former friend’ after she joked that she had run off with Ruth’s husband Eamonn Holmes.
There was a running joke throughout the show that Ruth’s husband Eamonn Holmes had left her for an imaginary ‘Tiffany’ after the panelists discussed whether people should stay in contact with their friend’s ex partner.
After the song I Think We’re Alone Now by Tiffany played, Coleen says: “Ruth does that ring a bell? It’s Tiffany! I think we’re alone now, Eamonn!”
Judy responded with: “Coleen, are you disappointed it’s not you?”
Coleen said: “It’s not me. It could be me!”
Ruth replied: “Ah, a friend slips in, someone close!” before Coleen joked: “My pseudonym could be Tiffany.”
The panel laughed as Ruth went on to welcome viewers back to the programme. She told the camera: “It’s lovely to have your company this afternoon. Alongside me, Ruth Langsford, is my former friend Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Judi Love.”
The show began discussing Christmas and the Loose Women set had been decked out with purple baubles, tinsel and Christmas trees to match the show’s logo.
Ruth Langsford said “Coleen is beside herself” and Coleen replied with “My tree is up, my decorations are up,” as pictures of Coleen’s house appeared on the screen showing two Christmas trees.
To the panelists amazement she said: “I’ve got another two to go up yet,” as they then moved on to discuss the emergence of the new Covid variant and whether it will disrupt Christmas this year.
Ruth turned to Coleen and said: “Everyone’s saying ‘What about Christmas?’ because, you remember last year, everyone was planning their Christmas and then it didn’t happen.”
Coleen quipped back: “Ruth, I’m sitting here surrounded by Christmas trees, I am not even listening to this conversation anymore because [singing] it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, so just shut up. I am getting on with my life, and getting on with Christmas.”
