Rev Richard Coles says he has felt a ghostly presence in his parish.
The Celebrity MasterChef star, who is the vicar of Finedon, Northants, said it is haunted by a “grey lady and a black lady”.
He added: “A couple of people, and I too, have felt someone rush past in distress at a point when there has been no-one there.”
The former Strictly star recently opened up about losing people, after his partner David Oldham died at the age of 42 in December 2019.
His death was described as “utterly unexpected” with Richard going on to write a book called The Madness of Grief: A Memoir of Love and Loss.
The holy man told Radio Times that he isn’t “particularly bothered about death” – but bereavement is another matter.
He told the publication: “Bereavement is different, I’ve been around bereaved people a lot, but when my partner David died three things struck me.
“One you’re exhausted because you’ve been up often for days. Two, you go mad. You don’t realise you’re mad though because you still walk the dogs. But you are mad.
“Three, I wondered if my faith would be shaken. The answer was no.”
David died after a battle with alcoholism, but Richard is keen for people not to remember him for that.
Last week, Richard tweeted a touching tribute to his late partner, including a fun photo.
He said: “RIP David Coles, died two years ago this night. Loved, missed; I still can’t work the central heating.
“Here he is doing roly polys at Milton Keynes shopping centre because I dared him.”
