Strictly's Shirley Ballas wows fans with dramatic short hair transformation

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas looked incredible as she ditched her trademark locks for a shorter ‘do on Sunday night’s results show.

The head judge looked a far cry from her usual self with her long brunette hair tucked into a darker bobbed wig, complete with a cheeky fringe just skimming her eyebrows.

Shirley slipped into a stunning black dress for the occasion, with a cut-out section at the chest and off-the-shoulder style to bare her freckled collarbone to the air.

She paired the glammed-up look with a pair of dangly silver earrings to complete the ensemble.

Fans immediately flocked to Twitter to share some love for Shirley’s new style, with one posting: “I really like Shirley Ballas’ hair with that bob style!”

Another followed up: “Love Shirley’s hair!”

“Shirley looking about 20 years younger with her shorter hair/wig. I love it!” someone else chimed in.

A fourth posted: “LOVE Shirley’s wig, she should get it exactly like that!”

For Saturday’s live show, Shirley donned a floor-length black dress which clung to her incredible curves, showing off her ageless figure, and featured a sinful split to her thigh.

She ramped up the spooky factor with a cape made of raven feathers and black gloves.

For her hairstyle, Shirley opted for a tied-back ‘do embellished with dark feathers, pairing the look with dangly black earrings and a stunning grey smokey eye.

She added a dark grey tiara to her hair which looked to be constructed of glittering baubles.

Her heels were the cherry on top of the whole ensemble, featuring silver glitzy studs on a black heel.

It comes as Shirley revealed her doctors were “mortified” by her test results after fans spotted a lump in her armpit.

Though medical professionals discovered no lump, Shirley’s doctor told her the judge’s testosterone levels were “the highest she’d seen in a woman”.

Shirley has now been referred for “urgent” scans on all of her organs at King’s College in London to ensure that her irregular hormone levels haven’t done any damage internally.

Despite her health fears, Shirley told The Sun that she is putting all her concentration into work to help herself stay positive.

She admitted her physician “won’t speculate on what the cause is”.

“She just says, ‘We need to deal with this. Let’s deal with the hormones and then see what else is there’,” Shirley explained to the publication.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6:45pm on BBC One.
