Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan has shared the tragic news of her father’s passing.
The 36-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share videos of his funeral, which included a horse-drawn carriage draped in Jamaican flags, along with a white coffin and doves.
In one clip, the hearse could be seen beyond the carriage, before a canvas print of Keisha’s dad was displayed in the church.
Later, a flock of white doves was release by the graveyard.
Keisha also shared a series of pictures of the two of them together, including at her 30th birthday celebrations with huge rose gold balloons.
One of her dad’s text messages to Keisha could also be seen, which read: “Thank you baby, I wouldn’t want anyone else for my daughter.
“My heart belongs to you babe and it always will, I will always be here for you, I’m blessed xxxxx.”
Another text exchange read: “Hi my baby, thanks for being my beautiful angel and thanks for making me the proudest dad in the world and I’ll always love you. THANK YOU XXX.”
To which Keisha replied: “Awww thank you dad love you always,” with a row of love-heart emojis.
“For you Daddy… I love you,” she captioned the TikTok compilation.
Though she didn’t give any information about his passing, Keisha penned a heartfelt tribute to her late father beside the video.
“Hardest few weeks of my life… heartbroken beyond belief,” she admitted. “So much to say but it’s hard to put into words for a caption.
“My protector, the man I loved the most, the coolest parent, my twin flame… my daddy. Sooo many thoughts… who will give me away? What will I tell my children when I have them?
“What a thing to adjust to smh…” she added.
“But even in this I trust the lord to strengthen me… I’m hopeful that I’ll get through a day without tears & physical pain in my chest soon. Moment by moment… #MissYouForever.”
Tributes to Keisha’s dad began pouring in in the comments section, with Keisha’s bandmate Mutya Buena commenting: “RIP dad… love u sis.”
Strictly star Clara Amfo posted: “So very sorry Keisha.”
And pop star Samantha Mumba posted: “So sorry love – be kind to yourself at this time. Lots of love x.”
“So sorry for your loss Keisha,” someone else posted, as another fan followed up: “Condolences to you and your family.”
Keisha was one of the founding members of Sugababes along with Mutya and Siobhán Donaghy in 1998, until the line-up underwent countless changes over the years.
