Susanna Reid makes cheeky quip about love life as she talks 'kissing under mistletoe'

TV presenter Susanna Reid let slip about her love life on Thursday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

The 50-year-old had been busy chatting about new Covid-19 restrictions surrounding Christmas parties – including “kissing under the mistletoe” with her ITV co-stars Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

Ben asked them: “How long do you have to know someone to kiss under the mistletoe, that is the question?”

Without hesitation Kate said: “Marriage.”

“If that’s the case then I never would have kissed someone,” chirped Susanna.

“How long would you have to wait then Susanna?” responded cheeky Ben as Susanna answered: “Long enough.”

The TV star doesn’t often mention her love life but over the years her private affairs have hit the headlines.

In past discussions on GMB, the mum-of-three has spoke out about her reasons for never wanting to tie the knot.

In 1998, Susanna met her long-term partner and father of her three sons Dominic Cotton – Sam, Finn and Jack.

After 16 years together, the pair decided to go their separate ways in 2014 but have remained good friends.

Susanna dated Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish

Speaking on an episode of Good Morning Britain, she explained her reasoning for not wanting to get married as she opened up to her co-stars on the personal topic.

She said at the time : “It was a personal choice. It’s a bit of an old fashioned idea that children are ‘illegitimate’ if you’re not married.

“Children are legitimate, whether you’re married or not!”

Susanna parted ways from her long-term partner Dominic in 2014

A few years later, Susanna moved on with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish after the pair were introduced by Susanna’s former co-star Piers Morgan.

However it wasn’t meant to be and the pair parted ways in April 2019 after around a year of dating.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
