Susanna Reid squirms as Andi Peters grills her about surprise I'm A Celeb stint on GMB

Good Morning Britain turned tense when Andi Peters put Susanna Reid on the spot.

The competition host, 51, left Susanna, 50, and co-host Richard Madeley, 65, looking rather awkward as he dropped an I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bombshell.

Having heard speculation that a breakfast host could be heading to Wales for the next series, Andi began to play the theme tune of the famous programme.

At this point, he left the TV stars squirming as he directed the question, asking if either presenter would be willing to share any news.

Susanna chirped back: “I can neither confirm nor deny if I will be going on the programme.”

Looking rather stunned Richard remained silent, leaving Susanna to add: “Neither can Richard and neither can Charlotte [Hawkins].”

Susanna “could neither confirm nor deny” if she’d be going into the Welsh jungle

Earlier on in the programme Richard also teased that he “may or may not” be heading into the Welsh jungle.

The TV veteran certainly wasn’t denying that he may have joined this years line-up on the ITV programme.

Rumours recently broke out to suggest that he had signed a “£200k” deal to join the 2021 cast.

Andi put both Richard and Susanna on the spot

Speaking about speculation, Susanna asked: “Are you doing anything in a month’s time, Richard? That means you can’t stay with us for more than a month?”

Taking the hint, Richard added: “She means I’m A Celebrity.”

Interjecting, Susanna added: “Because there are rumours that you are going into the jungle – the Welsh jungle.”

Richard explained: “I’m asked this every year and I usually give an equivocal reply. And I’ve checked with ITV what they want me to say about it because I may be going in and I may not be going in.”

Teasing Susanna added: “I may be going on or we may not be going in.”

“But they haven’t named you in the papers,” responded Richard.

“Well it’s about time they did,” replied Susanna.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am.
