Will Smith says he's in 'worst shape of his life' as he announces fitness plan

Will Smith has made a commitment to dropping the weight gain that lockdown has brought his way through a new youtube series documenting the workout process online.

He recently posted an image of himself to Instagram in nothing but his underwear and an open hoodie with the caption: “I’m gonna be real with y’all, I’m in the worst shape of my life.”

His announcement came in the form of a second Instagram post where Will lost the hoodie to reveal all and while he certainly isn’t in terrible shape for a man at the age of 52, it seems he may feel different and wants to make some changes.

The Hollywood star wrote in the caption: “This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing through the pantry.

“I love this body, but I wanna feel better. No more midnight muffins… this is it! Imma get in the best shape of my life!”

He added: “Teaming up with YouTube to get my health and wellness back on track. Hope it works!”

Will carried a great message of body positivity, highlighting that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic had a lot to do with gaining the weight and that doing so in the face of a stressful time such as this is not a bad thing.

His personal desire to feel better in himself is the driving factor of moving forward with his new series being produced by Westbook, the production company he and his partner Jada Pinkett Smith co-founded to create their YouTube content.

Diplo joked: “This is staged… Your gonna have abs in like three days.”

Casey Neistat said: “You’re a real one for this.”

Famed bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote: “Will, you poor baby, I’m crying for you, even though you’re still in better shape than 90% of America. Keep pumping!”

With no news of a set release schedule, Will has kept up with the hype of his announcement by posting a collection of funny and intense workout videos that people have been sending him via direct message on Instagram.
