Aqua look completely unrecognisable 25 years on from their smash hit song Barbie Girl as they reunite for a Top Of The Pops special.
The 90s band sent fans wild as they reunited and shared a snap on Instagram of them in the studio recording the special.
Lene Nystrøm, René Dif, and keyboardist Søren Rasted looked dramatically different having retired their crazy colourful and spiky hairstyles.
They captioned the post: “We had a great talk with Ryan Saunders from @bbc for their ‘Top Of The Pops 1994-1997’ show the other day. This took us down memory lane. Woooow! Your first AQUA-moment was?”
The band – Lene, René, Sør and guitarist Claus Norreen – were created in 1989 and their hit song Barbie Girl was number one in 14 different countries when it was released in 1997.
Fans felt nostalgic after the reunion and rushed to the comment section of the snap to share their feelings about the “icons”.
One wrote: “The queen never aged.”
While another person added: “You guys look great.”
A third said: “You have held up well. Still like to hear you.”
A fourth fan begged: “PLEASE NEW MUSIC.”
“What about new music guys??” asked a fifth.
After their success with Barbie Girl the band went on to create three albums, Aquarium in 1997, Aquarius in 2000 and Megalomania in 2011.
In an interview in 2019 Lene told TMZ how the band were working on new music.
She said: “We’re working on new music but we are our own toughest judges. We will not release anything until it’s absolutely perfect.
“We are crossing our fingers that something amazing will come out of it.”
Last July, Aqua released a cover of I Am What I Am for Copenhagen Pride.
