BBC's Naga Munchetty backs Anne-Marie as she talks falling during first dance at wedding

BBC star Naga Muchetty has backed Anne-Marie following her dramatic fall during her performance at the BRIT Awards.

The pop star took a tumble live on stage as she belted out a rendition of her hit Kiss My (Uh Oh) on Tuesday night.

Naga, 46, kicked off the latest edition of her BBC Radio 5 Live show on Wednesday (February 9) by discussing the dramatic moment.

The BBC Breakfast star said: “Styling it out. How good at that are you? Well Anne-Marie carried on singing and taking a little tumble at the BRITs last night.

After playing a clip of the moment the pop star fell down the stairs during her performance, the presenter added: “That’s properly styling it out isn’t it? Really, really good.”

Naga went on to share her the moment she fell over during the first dance at her wedding.

She continued: “I mentioned earlier on Nicky’s programme, I dunno if i styled it out but I did fall over in a big, puffy wedding dress during my first dance to You’re Just To Good To Be Ture.

“We even figured out a dance routine and everything. It didn’t go to plan but the wedding day was a success apart from that.

“It never happened, wasn’t on Insta so never happened.”

Anne-Marie, 30, has since laughed off her tumble during her energetic performance.

She made an entrance on stage from inside a giant heard and appeared to slip as she descended a flight of steps onto the stage at London’s O2 Arena after letting go of one of her dancer’s hands.

Just like when Madonna suffered her cape malfunction at the Brits in 2015, Anne-Marie’s fall quickly became a big talking point on Twitter.

Many fans were quick to praise her recovery, with one writing: “Anne-Marie’s fall looked so painful. Fair play to her for continuing. Show a modern day footballer that and they’ll probably get embarrassed.”

A second reacted: “massive respect to Anne-Marie carrying on after that fall,” and a third posted: “Ann Marie looked liked she just broke her ankle in that fall.”
