Coronation Street's Tracy Barlow shares health update as she thanks co-star pals

Actress Kate Ford has courageously spoken about the “struggles” and pain she experienced whilst recently filming scenes for Coronation Street.

Kate has been playing Corrie’s Tracy Barlow for more than 12 years and has opened up about suffering with endometriosis.

The 45-year-old actress has recently shared that she wanted to “hug” others who have the condition.

Kate posted a pained-looking selfie from the Corrie set and can be seen wearing her red ITV filming coat in the post shared to her 110,000 followers.

Her caption read: “Filming #itvcorrie this was a few weeks ago at a time that I was struggling with my #endrometriosis, luckily got lots of support x just sending a hug out to all those struggling with similar,” followed by a love heart.

After uploading the honest post, the soap star had received several heartfelt comments from her Corrie pals and fans praising her for bravely opening up.

Shobnal Gulati who played Corrie’s Sunita Alahan wrote: “You are so strong xxx and beautiful.”

Maria Connor actress Samia Longchambon commented with love and hug emojis.

Corrie’s assistant director Joanne Dunleavy Nelson said: “You did amazing though! And still looked fab”, to which Kate replied: “you looked after me thank you Joanne”.

Her fans had also shared their love with one adding: “Sending lots of love x,” and another penning: “Hope your feeling better beautiful xxx”.

The 45-year-old has grade four endometriosis which is the severe stage of the condition, where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

During the first lockdown in 2020, Kate tweeted: “As someone with grade four endometriosis, I realise how much I rely on my massage therapy to help with this.”

“Due to COVID I’ve not been able to visit my therapist for three months. My body is sore I’ll never take this therapy for granted again xx.”
