EastEnders viewers 'inspired' by mental health storyline as Stuart tackles depression

EastEnders viewers have praised the soap’s “inspiring” storyline as troubled Stuart Highway struggles through a mental health breakdown.

As fans saw Stuart take a GP surgery hostage and demand to see the doctor, his behaviour has continued to spiral as his scorned ex Rainie continues he bid to save him.

Fans saw Callum bring Stuart home from the police station after he is released as Rainie pleaded with him to accept the PND diagnosis.

Stuart begins finally opening up about his feelings and agrees to take his medication.

Fans watching the emotional scenes heaped praise on the storyline, saying in highlighted important issues and was “inspiring” TV.

“This is some inspiring seeing Stuart opening up on his mental health something that men find so difficult to do,” gushed one viewer.

A second added: “This is beautiful scene between Stuart and Rainie Talking about the feeling of physical touch to describe his internal feelings for Rolland. Well don’t to the writers.”

While a third echoed: “Excellent writing and acting tonight. Great to see serious stories covered accurately and sensitively.”

Rainie continues he bid to save him

Viewers are also praising actor Ricky Champ for his “incredible” portrayal of Stuart as his character gets ready to exit the soap.

“I’m not ready for Stuart’s exit next week. @RickyChamp1 deserves every award and more for his incredible work throughout this storyline highlighting male PND a topic never covered in soap before and Male breast cancer.”

Elsewhere in the episode, convinced she is going to prison, Linda writes birthday cards for the future for her children as Sharon reveals that she was at The Vic on the day of the accident and knows who answered Linda’s call.

At The Vic, Linda confronts Janine about the call in front of Mick but she claims that there was no one on the other end of the line.

Janine later fakes that she feels awful about not hearing anyone on the phone when Linda called and Mick continues to support Linda by offering to accompany her to court, much to Janine’s frustration.
