Emmerdale fans were delighted when Aaron Dingle “returned” to the ITV soap on Friday (December 15).
Aaron was last seen leaving the village in October after discovering Chas Dingle’s affair with Al Chapman was still going on.
Despite originally wanting to stay, Aaron decided he couldn’t be around Paddy and know the truth, prompting Chas to push her son out of the village to protect her secret.

But in tonight’s episode, Aaron made a brief comeback – sadly not in the way fans would want as he only called Paddy which he answered off screen.
Hearing Aaron’s name was enough to send fans wild however and they took to social media to discuss the brief mention.

One viewer gushed: “Aaron phoning Paddy made my day. He’s there for him [red heart emoji] #emmerdale.”
“Aaron phones Paddy!,” exclaimed another as a third echoed: “Aaron phoned him!!!”
Someone else added: “A surprise Aaron appearance! #Emmerdale,” while a fifth penned: “Aaron mention!!! [red heart emoji].”
It seems Aaron called Paddy because he finally wanted to tell him the truth about everything, including why he left again.

After their phone call, Paddy confronted Chas and unleashed his fury over how she could treat her son like that after Liv had just died.
“You drove your own son out of the village on the day of his sister’s funeral to protect your lies?,” Paddy quizzed Chas.
He continued: “He needed his family around him. He needed you,” as Chas insisted she was a mess and didn’t know what to do.

As Chas then admitted what she did was unforgivable, Paddy asked: “Which part?” before telling her there’s no saving their marriage.
“Let’s not make any more difficult than it already is. I’ll talk to a solicitor and start divorce proceedings,” Paddy gently said before Chas begged him not to.
Getting closer to Chas’ face, Paddy screamed: “And if you had a single shred of decency, you won’t stand in my way.”
Paddy then dropped the bombshell that he will fight Chas for custody of Eve before slamming the door and leaving her to break down alone.
