BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt took a subtle dig at MP Chris Philp after he joined the presenter on the early morning news show.
Charlie hosted alongside co-star Naga Munchetty and led the interview with the politician.
Stayt brought up some major issues but Philp gave very vague answers which clearly frustrated the BBC journalist and let to a slight outburst.

Philp continued to speak over the presenter as Charlie interrupted him in an attempt to steer the conversation and took a subtle swipe at the MP.
Charlie tried to “bring him back” to the original topic, repeatedly said “no” when the politician tried to talk and told him that the BBC show has a “limited amount of time”.
Philp continued to avoid the questions and Charlie grew visibly frustrated.
Stayt then exclaimed: “No. What I am going to do, I’m going to keep you concentrated, if I may, on what you just said.”
Charlie continued on and asked the MP for “exact figures,” but was forced to press the guest for the information.
The topic then turned to Philp’s “new role” as policing minister, which he has been in for “roughly nine or ten days”.
Stayt then said: “Obviously, trust is important in government, as you know. It’s our first time speaking to you in [this] role. What are your credentials for being policing minister?”
Philp explained that he has been an MP for seven years and has “always worked closely with our local police” with a “great interest in knowing how our community is kept safe”.
He said that “members of parliament are generalists” and some are “appointed to different roles” which “tie with their areas of interest and expertise”.
Charlie then said that there have been “five policing ministers in the last five years” and Chris will be “well aware of the problems in the police service,” and “not least” the public’s “faith” in the service.
He asked Philp how he intends to “change people’s perception of the police” and the MP said that the “vast majority of police officers” are “hardworking, dedicated and brave”.
Chris continued: “I was with police in Croydon, my home borough, yesterday, out on a foot patrol in the town centre and I met the emergency response team before they deployed for the late shift […] they put themselves in danger to keep us and our families safe.”
