GMB’s Kate Garraway in awkward blunder as she mispronounces Strictly star's name

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway was left red-faced after she accidentally pronounced a Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer’s surname wrong live on air.

During Friday’s visit to the ITV studios, the 55-year-old presenter welcomed viewers back onto the show alongside her co-host Ben Shephard.

In between tense chats about the growing concerns of possibly power shortages as the winter months draw in, the presenting duo discussed the upcoming instalment of the BBC One dance competition.

On the star-studded show, the dynamic duo welcomed Nadiya Bychkova and her celebrity partner Matt Goss onto the show after the pair faced the dreaded dance-off last week against Kaye Adams and Kai Widdrington.

The presenter opened the conversation saying: “Today on Good Morning Britain, they are gearing up for Movie Week which is always a gorgeous one is Movie Week, isn’t it?”

But things quickly turned awkward after the broadcaster accidentally pronounced the Ukrainian dancer’s surname incorrectly live on air.

She continued: “And Matt Goss is always in colour with his partner Nadia Bychkova – Oh did I say that wrongly? Bychkova!

As Ben chuckled beside her, she snapped: “You don’t know either! This is a brilliant moment for you guys at home, because what Ben does in these situations is he blames me but he doesn’t have more of an idea either.”

Ahead of their appearance on the show, Kate discussed their challenging week ahead on the dance show after training more than eight hours a day for Movie Week.

It was at this point that Ben Shephard asked: “What was your movie on Movie Week?” to which the blonde bombshell awkwardly confessed: “I didn’t get that far!”

The Tipping Point host then turned to Charlotte Hawkins and asked her what song she performed to, to which she confessed: “It was Top Gun to the song Danger Zone”.

Ben jokingly quipped: “I can’t believe you didn’t get through, did you get through that week?” which the broadcaster brushed it off saying: “It’s all a blur now”.

Kate chimed in with: “I don’t think they even had it in my day, no they didn’t even have it in my day.”
