Gogglebox fans devastated as star makes huge announcement about show ending

Gogglebox favourites Pete and Sophie Sandiford have left fans devastated after announcing that last week’s episode was the final show of the series.

While Pete shared some very exciting news on the episode – that he and his wife Paige are expecting their second child – his Instagram post left fans gutted.

He and his sister Sophie shared a snap sat on the sofa at home in Blackpool ahead of the episode and made their big announcement.

Fans were gutted the current series was coming to an end, after they watched the cast react to shows including The Traitors and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

One said: “Oh no! Five words I didn’t want to read… will be watching.”

Another commented: “Last one, oh no.”

A third begged: “When will it be back on again?”

Someone else said: “What, last one already? Time flies.”

And a fifth added: “No! When will you guys be back?!”

As far as final episodes go, Friday’s (December 9) was a big one, as another cast member announced they were expecting a baby too.

Ellie Warner showed her sister Izzi a baby scan, explaining that she’d been to get it done on “Saturday”.

They chuckled as 31-year-old Ellie said it “looks like a jellied alien”, though Izzi didn’t seem too excited but told her sister she’s “stare at it a bit longer just to make you happy”.

But Gogglebox fans were then given the news that Pete and his wife Paige were expecting their second child together too.

Speaking to his little boy Jimmy, Pete said: “Jimbers, you’re going to have a little brother or sister coming. You’re going to have to milk it.”

Fans of the show love the little insights into the cast’s lives, and the casual ways in which they announce their big updates, with one saying: “How refreshing, the most natural of announcements.”
