Helen Flanagan makes tough decision to stop breastfeeding and admits feeling 'drained'

Helen Flanagan has opened up about her breastfeeding journey and why she wants to stop nursing her youngest child.

The former Coronation Street star and mum-of-three admitted she has been feeling “drained” and has had a “challenging few weeks” and has now decided to wean Charlie, one.

She made the announcement on Instagram and said: “I’ve decided to stop feeding. I’ve really enjoyed nursing Charlie but the past month I’ve just had enough.

“Today was the first day I’m trying to gradually wean him off during the day (he feeds too much).

Helen, 31, went on to say that while she “loves being a mum” and is “so grateful for her babies” she has decided to make some changes in her life.

She added: “Found the past weeks quite challenging with mum life. I think it’s quite good to be honest as we see such perfect images of motherhood on social media.

“I’ve never had any childcare for Charlie but I’ve decided to get some week. To help him eat more and get off the boob. It’s just different stages and they will pass.”
