Coronation Street teen Summer Spellman has become a fan favourite over the years.
The adopted daughter of Billy Mayhew’s old flame Drew Spellman currently played by actress Harriet Bibby.
Fans have watched her endure a traumatic time on the Cobbles ever since she first arrived on the soap in 2017.
The character was originally played by Matilda Freeman.
Despite her dramatic scenes on the ITV series, the actress behind the character lives a far different life off-screen.
From her shocking real age, glamorous social life and a very unusual gift from a devoted fan, Daily Star has taken a look at the rising’s star’s life away from the TV camera.
Glam Snaps
It’s clear the young star lives a much more glamorous life off-screen than she does playing introverted bookworm Summer.
In a series of snaps on social media, Harriet often updates her fans on her social soirees and stunning looks with her large group of friends when she’s away from the set.
In one picture posted on New Year’s Eve, Harriet can be seen sporting a skin-tight sparkly catsuit with a glass of Champaign as she poses on a balcony to celebrate the special night.
It’s clear she made the most of the new year as let loose with pals having a wild evening at a lavish party.
In another glam snap the beautiful star poses in red in a pretty garden with bright red lipstick.
Harriet couldn’t have looked further away from her character on Halloween when she channelled a Day of the Dead skeleton.
She was barely recognisable as she wore a multi-coloured wig with a floral headband and had her face painted with the classic sugar skull makeup.
“A few fun nights with friends,” Harriet shared alongside the post which featured pictures of her out and about with friends.
Corrie co-star Elle Mulvaney was the first to comment, writing: ” Love the makeup!!!”
Real age
Despite playing a young 16-year-old schholgirl in the Manchester-based soap, most fans will be shocked to find out the star’s real age is much different from her on-screen persona.
The Lincolnshire-born star is actually a whopping seven years older than the character she portrays, having turned 23 in April 2021.
Commenting on the age disparity, the actress said to Manchester Evening News: “It doesn’t feel that bizarre.
“I still feel like a kid and I do have a baby face, and she’s had a difficult past which has made her more mature.”
Harriet was recognised with a nomination for Best Newcomer at last year’s Inside Soap Awards and has also made appearances in Michelle Keegan’s comedy drama Brassic and medical drama Doctors.
Unusual gift from fan
Having only set foot on the Cobbles for a short period of time, Harriet has made a big impact on viewers and scored a huge fanbase on social media.
As she gets used to life in spotlight, the young star recently revealed how she once received an unusual gift from a fan.
She laughed: “A lot of my family live in the North East and we’d been to a market in Tyne.
“There was this big, Geordie, bald bloke and he saw me, stared at me and his jaw dropped. I didn’t really click as in my brain I’m just Harriet.
