Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh has made her mark in the Dales as Tracy Metcalfe on the ITV soap since 2014.
Known for a string of acting appearances, from playing Jennifique McQueen in Hollyoaks to her widely praised portrayal as Princess Fiona in the West End production of Shrek, the Bradford-born beauty has won the hearts of Brits across the nation.
From famous siblings to a broken romance, Amy’s life off-screen appears to be as dramatic as her soap storylines.
As Tracy debates about leaving the village with baby Frankie after receiving a job offer, Daily Star has taken a look at her life away from the cameras.
Real-life soap romance
Even though they’re soap rivals, the Emmerdale star is currently enjoying a fairytale romance off-screen with EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith.
The couple first met in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 and began dating in 2020, just before the Covid-19 lockdown.
Toby has played Albert Square’s villain Gray Atkins since 2019.
The couple confirmed that they were expecting a baby in September last year and now the duo have shared that they welcomed their new arrival over the festive period with a statement to OK! Magazine.
“Well…it’s been a busy week! Hope you all had a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR from the three of us,” the pair shared in a joint statement, which was accompanied by a picture of the new parents looking lovingly down at their baby in a pram.
They recalled their first meeting in an interview on Loose Women back in September, revealing it was “pure chance” they were seated next to each other on the front row.
“He walked in and sat next to me and I turned around to my friend and I was like, ‘He’s so fit’. And then we were just chatting all night and really got on,” Amy explained.
Toby cheekily confessed he enjoyed being sat next to Amy in the ‘”snug” Strictly audience, and was thankful for the close seating as it meant they could indulge in some serious flirting.
Broken Romance
While the star is currently loved-up with her EastEnders star Toby-Alexander, the young actress has faced some tragic heartbreak in her past after her devastating split from fiancé Bradley Jaden.
Amy had been dating the Wicked actor for five years when he proposed in Thailand in 2016, with the couple planning a 2018 wedding.
Recalling the moment he proposed, Amy told OK! Magazine at the time: “I genuinely didn’t know what was happening until he got down on one knee.
“I just thought, no, this can’t be that! Then I burst into tears.”
After remaining tight-lipped about their wedding plans and out of the spotlight for years following their expected wedding date, it appeared the couple had split after Bradley posted a loved-up snap with his Wicked co-star Olivia Kate Holding.
Famous sisters
Amy may be a fan favourite in Soapland but she is not the only well-known member of her family.
Amy’s famous sister Kimberley has become a household name as a member of Girls Aloud alongside Cheryl Tweedy Nadine Coyle, the late Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts.
Kimberly found fame auditioning for Popstars: The Rivals and has gone on to sell over four million singles in her ten-year career.
Amy’s older sister Sally also starred in Emmerdale as Marlon Dingle’s troublemaker girlfriend, Lyn Hutchinson, who famously got into a cat fight with Kelly Windsor.
She remained on the show for three years until her character discovered her enemy Kelly’s affair with her half-brother Scott Windsor.
Sally continued her acting career after Emmerdale and went on to appear in both EastEnders and Coronation Street.

Previously speaking to The Sun, Amy said: “It was a bit like Fame in our house.
“Every morning before school Sally and Kimberley would rehearse their own little shows and my mum was a music teacher, so she’d be accompanying them on the piano.
“When I first joined Emmerdale, me, my Mum and Kimberley all sat together to watch and we had a little bit of a tea party, which was nice.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV from 7pm
