Fans of The Chase were left baffled when a contestant revealed his impressive list of jobs as they became adamant he is “loaded.”
Bradley Walsh returned for another day of hosting the popular ITV game show and his final contestant was Michael, 59.
Originally announcing himself as a medical director, Bradley, 61, asked about his career in more detail.
The 59-year-old said: “I am the global medical director for a pharmaceutical and medical devise company and predominantly I am across the aesthetics franchise, so injectable products like Botox and facial fillers.
“And my background is I’m a qualified facial plastic surgeon and head neck surgeon and I used to practise in Beverly Hills.”
Viewers of the show immediately headed to Twitter to question why Michael was taking part in the competition.
One wrote: “What’s Michael doing on The Chase? I bet he’s loaded working in Beverley Hills!”
A second said: “Jeez, bet he’s loaded!”
Someone else claimed: “This guy does not need the money, he’s no doubt got enough.”
Another user tweeted: “He defo doesn’t need any of this money, like loose change to him lol.”
A fifth asked: “Why is this dude on The Chase if he is a Beverly Hills surgeon?” which was accompanied by an image that read “I’m so rich.”
While another stated: “Former plastic surgeon who is head of a pharmaceutical company? He’s going to be LOADED.”
After Michael revealed he worked in Beverly Hills, Bradley cheekily asked “Come on then?” insinuating he wanted to know the names of some of Michael’s famous patients.
The medical director replied: “I can tell everybody here you’ve never been in the office.”
As Michael was met with several laughs, Bradley quipped: “Maybe I should’ve though Michael, that’s the sad thing though.”
Along with Julie, Aaron and Elaine, Michael made it through to the final chase as the group amassed a total of £24,000.
Unfortunately, the groups grand total of 16 wasn’t enough to beat Mark Labbett who caught them with 29 seconds to spare.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
