Katie Piper has plasma injected into skin in latest cosmetic treatment video

Katie Piper has given fans a sneak peek of her latest cosmetic treatments online.

Taking to her Instagram, the Loose Women star provided a video which showed her undergoing micro-needling to help improve the overall appearance of her skin and to support the “skin’s rejuvenation process”.

In the video, consultant and plastic surgeon Dr Olivier Amar injected Katie’s face with blood taken from another round of PRP.

Katie, 38, who suffered from burns following an acid attack, could be seen lying down in a blue robe while her plasma was being inserted into her face as she ensured fans that the procedure is relatively pain-free.

Captioning the clip, the TV personality said: “Back with @dr.olivieramar for another stage of my treatment with him. I started my journey at his clinic in July and today I had more micro-needling with Morepheus 8 and bloods taken for another round of PRP to aid with the healing and restoring process of the skin.

“I’ve started to notice huge benefits and improvements to my skin and Dr Amar makes it as painless as possible dare I say even enjoyable.”

Sharing her experience after the treatment, Katie said she didn’t feel any “discomfort” from the procedure and she believes that it is “working” for her.

Last month, Katie hit headlines after she revealed that the skin on her face is “made out of a cow” as she opened up about her NHS surgeons’ pioneering work that they’ve done on her skin over the years.

The mother-of-two had her face rebuilt after she was viciously attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend.

The savage assault caused major damage to her face and blindness in one eye.

Discussing her procedures on the What if? Podcast, Katie explained: “Because it’s a corrosive substance, you think with fire you can put it out and maybe minimise the damage, but with me all four layers of the skin were destroyed.

“The subcutaneous layer, which is the fatty layer, was also destroyed.”

She also shared what the NHS doctors had to do to restore the skin on her face.

She added: “They had to start from the beginning with a man-made dermal substitute. I always think of the analogy of a house, when you get the foundations before you get the bricks and the scaffolding.

“This foundation is made from collagen and elastin taken from a cow. Cue all the moody cow jokes! My face is made out of a cow,” she laughed.
