Lorraine Kelly swipes at Prince Andrew for 'lack of class' and fears he'll spoil Jubilee

Lorraine Kelly and Royal editor Russell Myers discussed Prince Andrew on this morning’s show, with Lorraine saying she hopes he won’t ‘spoil’ the Queen’s year.

This year marks the Queen’s platinum jubilee, a record breaking year which will celebrate 70 years since she was crowned.

Russell began by explaining that the Queen was on her way to Sandringham Estate, as she goes to the estate every year to celebrate Christmas, but has been unable to go and celebrate with family in recent years due to the pandemic.

Russell urged viewers to ‘spare a thought for the Queen’ as she has just experienced her first Christmas without her husband Prince Philip by her side, along with most of the family.

She normally goes to Sandringham estate until February 6 which is the anniversary of her father’s death and this year it is expected that she will spend some time reflecting at Prince Philip’s former home.

Lorraine then said: “We really hope someone’s not going to spoil it for her, which of course is Prince Andrew. As if there wasn’t enough going on for her, he’s facing a probe into being a bully. What’s going on there?”

Russell said that he’s attempting to ‘move on from his big legal drama that he’s still fighting many fronts on’ but former Royal Protection Officer Paul Page, who worked for the palace for six years, has recently made claims against him.

“He has come forward to say that he complained about the Duke on three separate occasions about his bullying nature. He claimed about a dozen instances of people saying he was not only pompous and arrogant, but also a bully.”

After Lorraine and Russell had discussed the allegations against Prince Andrew, Lorraine changed the topic: “Now, shall we talk about someone else with a lot more class?”

The ex-guard also shared his suspicions that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell had an intimate relationship during a television interview due to: “the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will.”

“We realised, suspected, that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew. A colleague of mine remembered her coming in four times in one day, from the morning until the evening. She kept coming in and out, in and out,” he said.

He also claimed that Maxwell was allowed to access Andrew’s private apartments, in which he kept an unusual collection of stuffed animals.

Page alleged that Andrew would have a tantrum if the toys were moved and that he kept a diagram for the staff which explained how to arrange the teddies.
