Lorraine Kelly's 1.5 stone weight loss sees her back in wedding dress after 30 years

Lorraine Kelly’s impressive weight loss of more than 1.5 stone has seen the star able to get back into her wedding dress, 30 years after the big day.

Lorraine has dropped two dress sizes since the beginning of her health journey with WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers, and has said she can “get into” the gown.

The presenter confirmed that she was 11 stone when she “started” and is now 10 stone three pounds, which is no mean feat.

Lorraine admitted that she had begun turning down invitations to red carpet events due to her low self esteem and self confidence issues.

However, since the ITV star has shifted her focus towards “eating well and living well”, she has said that her “zest for life has returned”.

She spoke to OK! about her weight loss journey and said that “it’s just so lovely to be wearing clothes she really wants to” and not “baggy shirt dresses” whilst “trying to cover up”.

Lorraine admitted: “It’s made life a lot easier. I know I wasn’t alone in putting on weight over the pandemic. I think a lot of us were comfort eating.”

Her husband Steve has noticed a “boost in her energy levels” and even commented that he “had her back” after significant improvements.

Lorraine now loves taking her pups for a walk after a long day and is “up for doing stuff” whereas before, she would “do some housework and the collapse in front of the telly”.

She continued: “It’s improved my confidence massively. I feel like I can take on anything right now. I just got invited to this wonderful opera with my daughter and I probably wouldn’t have done that before, but now I’m going to everything and it feels fantastic.”

Lorraine and Steve are both reaping the benefits as he “loves cooking” and is enjoying using “more flavours and vegetables”, while she confirmed they aren’t “eating massive plates of chocolate every night”.

The Lorraine host said that she now “relishes” the new experiences and went to the recent BAFTAs ceremony which was the “first time in a while” that she felt like she “could enjoy the evening and present an award” without doubting herself and the way she looked.
