Love Island star Gemma Owen has reportedly won only three dressage competitions in the last seven years, as backed by an anonymous source.
The 19-year-old was an original contestant and joined nine other hopefuls during the first round of coupling, as voted for by the public, before bombshell Davide swooped in and stole her from Liam.
She has been at the forefront of the show’s drama for the first few episodes and has mentioned to the other contestants that she is a dressage rider.
Dressage is a form of horse riding in which the horses prance and perform tricks when signalled by their rider.
Gemma has said she has won awards in her field, but a source told The Sun: “Whenever she has explained what she does for a living on the show, she’s said she travels around the world competing in international dressage competitions. This much is true, but sadly she doesn’t win very many.”

They continued on and made a scathing remark: “She’s taken part in 39 competitions and won just three times. Her dad certainly had a better strike rate.”
Gemma’s most recent win was an international competition in 2020 and she placed 46th in her most recent global contest.
According to The International Federation for Equestrian Sport’s FEI database, Gemma, who is the daughter of former England football striker Michael Owen, has won just twice before in March 2017.

Gemma is currently coupled up with Davide, who was sent into the villa to ruffle some feathers after the cast was placed into couples.
Usually, Love Island allows the women to step forward for the men during the first episode, allowing the men to pick which islander they would like to partner with.
However, this series saw a shocking twist and none of the islanders had any idea what had been planned.
Voters at home had paired them all up and host Laura Whitmore placed them into their couples, which didn’t seem to impress the cast.
Most of the contestants have their eye on someone else and the audience has picked up on this.
One viewer tweeted out: “Literally all the couples on Love Island don’t look happy, why did they have to change the coupling?”
