Love Island's Davide Sanclimenti reveals why he turned down a major ITV reality show

Davide Sanclimenti revealed why he “refused” to take part on a major ITV reality show after Love Island success.

The Italian hunk, 28, explained to The Sun how he was offered an exclusive spot on the star-studded line up for Dancing on Ice next year but turned down the offer because he is “too busy”.

Over the past few years, several Love Island stars have competed on the skating competition, including Wes Nelson and Liberty Poole.

But this year the TV star has said no to the winter competition so that he can focus on his current commitments including his recent collaboration with boohooMAN.

He told the publication how ITV bosses really wanted him to take part on Dancing on Ice when they offered him the spot just weeks after he left the villa.

Davide explained: “They wanted me to do Dancing on Ice this year but I refused this time around.

“I have so much going on and I can’t commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly.

“Right now I just can’t focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will.”

The ITV favourite also hinted at other TV work in the pipelines – including his show with girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu which will see the pair travelling the world.

He added: “If it’s something that interests me I’ll do more TV, but if it’s something that I don’t like then I won’t.”

It comes after the reality star revealed his fears that his romance with Ekin-Su would not be sustainable in the real world outside of the villa.

Speaking to Mirror Online, the TV heartthrob revealed that the couple are “enjoying their relationship” away from the constant eyes of the cameras in the villa and are even looking at moving in together.

He told the news outlet: “It’s been better since we left the villa. We feel like we are actually a proper boyfriend and girlfriend. We feel like a proper couple because in the villa it’s not the real world.

“We were scared that we couldn’t work in the real world, but we actually saw that we work and work better.

“We had fiery times in the villa but we’ve been really good after,” he admitted. “We’ve had a few small arguments but healthy ones. You need a few small arguments in the relationship in order to feel it’s real.

“But apart from that we feel better since we left the villa. It’s nice when I wind her up and she winds me up and then we love each other.”
