“When I’m in camp people will just see the real me.

“Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in.

“People will see me warts and all. See the human side of the guy behind the podium.

“I don’t think I’ve got any fears or phobias, but I’m about to find out.”

Viewers rushed to their keyboards to tease Matt about taking on the next challenge.

Another added: “Matt Hancock has arrived and is about to do the first of many Bushtucker Trials.”

A third person said: “So @seannwalsh & @MattHancock are officially set to join the camp tomorrow night, but not before doing the next trial? Hopefully in Matt’s case it’s the hardest most disgusting one ever. Make him well & truly suffer guys please!!!”

While a fourth social media user wrote: “Matt Hancock doing the trial tomorow. I’m so excited for this.”

In his video clip ahead of heading into camp, former Strictly star Seann said: “It seems that every single person that does the jungle says it’s the best experience of their life – so I’m up for that.

“I’m up for the best experience of my life. Who wouldn’t be?

“Over the years, I’ve read a lot of things about myself and you know, it does hurt.

“I’d love for it to be a kind of new start. And just maybe change opinions, that would be really nice.”

Both Matt and Seann will take on the next Bushtucker Trial and will try their best to win meals for camp.

Matt has been suspended from the Conservative Party following the news that he’s joined the show.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has also criticised him saying he is “very disappointed” in him.
