Pamela Anderson has announced that a new Netflix documentary about her life is currently in the works.
The Baywatch actress, 54, took to her Instagram to announce the Netflix film would land on the streaming platform after years in the making.
She announced the news to her 1.3m Instagram followers as she shared a handwritten note ona Netflix letterhead with a red lipstick kiss mark at the bottom.
Pamela penned: “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story.”
Netflix then took to Twitter and announced that the documentary will set “the record straight” about Pamela’s life.
The tweet said that the film will feature “the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey”.
The documentary is yet to be given a name but will include exclusive access to the star as well as to her personal journals.
This documentary comes off the back of Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, a limited series about Pamela and then-husband Tommy Lee’s stolen sex tape which made headlines in 1995.
The leading actress in the Hulu adaptation, Lily James, confirmed she personally reached out to Pamela prior to filming.
She said: “I wish it had been different. My sole intention was to take care of the story and to play Pamela authentically.”
The Hulu miniseries also starred Seth Rogen as Rand, a former employee who stole the infamous tape, and Nick Offerman as adult film producer Milton Ingley, who Seth contacted to leak the tape.
The sex tape became one of the most viral internet scandals during the noughties.
Pamela and Tommy tried to prevent the tape’s release by suing the distributor Internet Entertainment Group.
The pair’s relationship was turbulent and they split in 1998 after having two sons together.
