The Libertines frontman Pete Doherty still bears bad memories of ex girlfriend Kate Moss, 48, after she once set fire to his beloved teddy.
In his new book, A Likely Lad, the 43-year-old wrote: “[there was] not really one specific incident that finished the relationship. Our worlds were not really compatible in the end.”
The cracks in their relationship would eventually result in a heated showdown during which Kate would destroy one of Pete’s beloved guitars and set his beloved teddy bear on fire.
Doherty said: “There was one final big old kick-off. She desecrated this 1930s Gibson, smashed it up. Kate then had Pandy, my Teddy bear, covered in petrol and set him alight – it’s not funny. I used to carry him round London with me.”
The rocker was one of the UK music scene’s biggest hell-raisers back in the noughties when he fronted The Libertines and Babyshambles, and was known to be in some high profile relationships.
As well as being in a relationship with the singer Amy Winehouse, he also shared some time together with Kate Moss.
In January 2007, the couple flew out to Thailand for a holiday with hotel tycoon Sir David Tang and Sarah Ferguson.
However, what began as a mock wedding on the beach soon took a turn for the worse as Pete went missing and ended up getting arrested after doing drugs with some random backpackers he’d met, reported The Sun.
The couple wouldn’t officially split until a year later and by that time tensions between the paid had escalated.
It was not until later that year that the pair split for good.
The singer and the model started dating after meeting at a birthday party in 2005.
They were even planning to get married at one point, with Pete having introduced Kate as his fiancée at a gig in 2007.
The former couple have both since moved on, with Pete having married partner Katia de Vidas – the keyboardist in his new band The Puta Madres – in a ceremony last year.
