Writing in his column for new! magazine, the singer said: “It’s Junior’s 17th birthday next week, which means it’s time for a car and driving lessons!

“It feels crazy that little J is now old enough to drive. He’s a good kid and makes me proud.”

But despite having millions in the bank, Pete insisted he wouldn’t be getting his son anything too expensive.

He continued: “I spent last week looking for his first car and asked him to give me a list of models he likes so the present will be a surprise on the day.”
