Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg has revealed he’s given his full-time blunt roller a pay rise due to inflation.
The marijuana enthusiast decided to hire someone for the role in 2019 to ensure he had perfectly rolled blunts on hand ready to go when needed.
The 50-year-old spoke about the unique job once on The Howard Stern Show saying on his employee’s resumé, it says: “I’m a blunt roller. P-B-R, professional blunt roller.”
Snoop Dogg continued to say that if someone is great at something that he needs, he’s hiring them.
Speaking about his “PBR’s” salary and benefits, the rapper revealed that he pays somewhere between $40,000 (£31,000) and $50,000 (£39,900) a year for the role.
On the benefits they get, Snoop Dogg said: “Free weed- all paid expenses. Everything I get, he gets. I go get some free clothes, I give him some.”
Since hiring his professional blunt roller in 2019, the cost of living has been rapidly increasing which resulted in Snoop deciding to give his employee a pay rise.
The 50-year-old confirmed the salary increase in a response to an UberFacts tweet that made note of the outlandish fact.
He replied: “Inflation. Their salary went up!!”
It looks as though Snoop has inspired other celebrities to find their own blunt rollers as Kid Cudi and G Herbo have advertised for the role in the past.
His fellow weed enthusiast Seth Rogan also highlighted the unusual role and showed an interest in getting his own PBR.
Appearing on The Howard Stern Show alongside Snoop, he seemed to be in awe of his blunt roller.
He said: “There’s been like 40 minutes where I’m like, “I’m just watching this guy and I’m just going to see what is going on here”. As someone who smokes a lot of weed, it’s f***ing fascinating.”
Seth then dubbed Snoop a “genius” before revealing he may hire someone himself to roll blunts for him.
He continued: “Honestly, the amount of time I spend rolling joints, it might be worth my while financially to hire someone to do that.”
It looks like he wouldn’t have to look very far for someone to fill the role as many people took to Twitter replying to Snoop’s tweet about his PBR’s salary increase.
One Twitter user said: “So the salary is also high?”
Another said: “You need an extra person?”
Although it looks as though the role isn’t new as rapper Waka Flocka Flame hired his own PBR in 2014.
It’s reported that the salary was $50,000 with the job attracting more than 60,000 applicants, with Seth Rogen even filling the role for a short time.
