Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has split up with his girlfriend Eiri Munro.
The Olympic swimmer released a statement on Instagram on Tuesday (August 23) telling fans what had happened.
He posted a picture of him, Eiri and their young son George onto his profile with a lengthy message.

Adam wrote: “Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways.
“We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.
“Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship.”

He continued: ” I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years.
“Eiri and George, I’m sorry for letting you down.
“My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further.”
This comes a few days after Adam posted a series of snaps where he described himself as being “happy and home”.
The Strictly Come Dancing star shared some pics of him and his son George at his lavish home.
The family could be seen in his garden with his adorable son smiling at the camera and Adam posing in his swimming trunks.

However, Eiri seemed to be annoyed in the comments with her writing: “Ugh thanks for the photo credits mayte.”
Another fan wrote: “Wow what camera did you use for this?”
A second joked: “Well that first pic made all us gays very happy too x”
Whereas another quipped: “And when is your naked edition appearing in Attitude Magazine?”
