The Chase turns tense as host Bradley tells co-star 'pull yourself together' on ITV show

The Chase viewers were left in hysterics after host Bradley Walsh lashed out at Anne Hegarty for laughing at him.

Viewers of Friday’s (March 18) episode saw the funny side after Bradley and Anne butted heads after she giggled at him during his chat with a contestant.

The comical clash occurred as he was quizzing Leicester-based hopeful Phillipa about the names of members of a band.

He believed the answer was Deacon Blue because they sounded like Scottish names and Deacon Blue were a “Scottish band.”

Hearing Bradley’s reasoning Anne began to snigger – triggering a fiery response from the popular ITV quiz show’s host.

He said: “Why is Anne laughing? Pull yourself together woman what are you doing? Stop laughing at your own jokes.

“Stop making your own jokes up up there it’s unnecessary. I’m trying to run a show here and all you’re doing is laughing your head off. It’s unnecessary.”

Bradley continued his tirade as he poked fun at himself and urged Anne to “stop poo-pooing everything.”

He added: “I’m trying to make myself sound intelligent. You’re poo-pooing everything. Stop poo-pooing.”

After the round ended bradley couldn’t resist the urge to again raise the subject of Anne’s unexplained giggling as he again hit out at her.

He said: “I was right in the end by the way.”

Anne then interjected: “I wasn’t laughing at you.”

Unimpressed, Bradley swiped back: “You were laughing at me, you weren’t laughing with me, you were laughing at me. You were making me look foolish in front of my millions of friends.”

Wounded Bradley retorted: “That’s not fair.”

One wrote: “I love it when Bradley Walsh and @anne_hegerty are on #TheChase together, so funny together.”
