The Masked Singer fans 'expose' Traffic Cone as legendary Welsh singer after key clues

The Masked Singer has sent ITV viewers into detective mode as they try to work out who all of the quirky characters are – but some think they’ve finally exposed the identity of Traffic Cone.

A number of fans believe they’ve spotted revealing clues which suggest that it’s legendary Welsh singer Sir Tom Jones lurking behind the mask.

The Masked Singer UK returned to screens for the third episode of its third season on Saturday night (January 8) – and Traffic Cone is one of 9 stars remaining in the competition.

The cone-shaped star shook up social media during their debut performance – singing Rick Astley’s 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up

The character sang in a brightly-coloured orange costume on a stage sporting numerous road signs, and was surrounded by dancing construction workers.

Taking to Twitter, excited fans were convinced that it was Sir Tom strutting his stuff inside the large orange cone.

One fan said that Sir Tom used to work in construction before he became a famous singer – which would explain the character’s construction theme.

They wrote: “TRAFFIC CONE is definitely Tom Jones. I remember him saying on the Voice he worked in Construction before he made it big”

Others claimed that the sounded like Sir Tom, who is also a judge on The Voice UK.

A second user penned: “traffic cone sounds like Tom Jones, even the tache looks like his.”

Another thought Traffic Cone not only sounded like the Voice UK judge, but resembled him too.

They had spotted Traffic Cone’s thick moustache, believing it could be a hint at Tom’s own facial hair.
