The One Show’sAlex Jones has admitted that she ‘hates’ watching herself back on TV.
The lovable Welsh presenter might have hosted the flagship BBC One show for over a decade as well as other shows like Shop Well for Less? and Tumble.
However, it seems the 44-year-old prefers to avoid watching herself on the small screen.
Monday’s One Show saw Alex join her former footballer co-host Jermaine Jenas on the green sofa as they spoke to comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
Romesh, who is now the host of The Weakest Link, had said that he finds it “unbearable” to watch himself back on the television, so he evades it unless he has to.
Romesh said: “I can’t stand watching myself. I find it unbearable to watch myself on TV so I don’t ever watch.
“All I see is what I did wrong, I think I look smug, I hate what I’m doing.”
He then quipped: “People at home are saying ‘well you join me mate, it’s exactly how I feel’.”
He went on: “But yeah I just can’t stand it so I only ever watch anything when I have to for the edit and I’m giving notes, but otherwise I can’t. I can’t bring myself to watch it.”
Show host Alex then admitted: “Same.”
Jermaine looked surprised and asked: “Really?”
Alex replied: “Yeah, I hate it as well. I hate my voice.”
The mum-of-three proceeded to make a loud disgusted noise as if to mimic her reaction to watching herself speak on air.
Jermaine then joined the group, saying: “I’m gonna say ‘me too’, then, to join the gang.”
Proud mum Alex recently gave birth to her third child – a daughter named Annie – after taking some time off from hosting the BBC show.
Alex shares Annie with her hubby Charlie – along with their two boys Edward and Kit.
Announcing the birth of Annie, Alex took to Instagram with a powerful post that read: “We have some news………Our beautiful daughter came safely into the world on Saturday afternoon 21.08.21.
“Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.
“Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the three of them and to be a family of five. It still doesn’t feel real!!!”
