Miles Teller has admitted to breaking Royal protocol when he met Prince William.
The Divergent actor, 35, appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (September 29) where he confessed that he “messed up” while meeting the Prince of Wales and his wife Kate Middleton at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere.
The Royal couple attended the event in Leicester Square, London in May.

Miles revealed that despite being instructed to not initiate a handshake, he couldn’t resist extending a hand out to the Prince.

Miles said: “There’s a lot of etiquette … and I kind of had a sheet to prep to make sure I wouldn’t mess up.
“Right off the bat I messed up: you’re not supposed to extend your hand right off the bat unless they do but I felt the vibe, so I’m like, ‘I’m going in, I’m going in.’
“To their credit, they were very disarming and this and that.”

Miles later claimed that he got “lost in Prince William’s eyes” and “blacked out” during the experience.
He added: “I mean, blue as the bluest ocean, Jimmy, what do you want?
“Kate is beautiful and very cordial and holds herself so well, yeah, regal … but with William I don’t know, I blacked out.”
The actor portrayed Lt. Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick.

The record-breaking film also starred Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly and Glen Powell.
In November last year, Miles surprised fans by appearing in the music video for Taylor Swift and Chris Stapleton’s Red: Taylor’s Version single I Bet You Think About Me.
Miles starred in the Blake Lively-directed mini-film alongside his wife Keleigh Sperry, 29, and Taylor herself.
