X Factor star Chico revealed he had an “out of body experience” following the death of Princess Diana who was his “first love”.
The royal family member inspired one of Chico’s songs which he wrote on the side of the road following her death after having a spiritual awakening.
The singer admitted in an interview with the Daily Star that he didn’t think much of Prince Charles but instantly loved his wife.
The famous star who sings the cheesy pop hit Chico Time explained: “Princess Diana was my first love.
“I opened a magazine and on one side was a jaguar and the other was a picture of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
“I didn’t think much of him but instantly fell in love with her blonde hair and blue eyes.”
Diana appeared to him shortly after her tragic car crash death in 1997 and caused him to break down in tears.
Speaking about the tragedy, Chico said: “When she sadly passed away I was driving back from my dads and I just started crying uncontrollably and had to pull over.”
The sadness caused him to have an “out of body experience” which prompted him to write a song about her in 15 minutes.
“It’s an experience I’ve not had before or after, my whole body was tingling and I had an out of body experience.”
The dad-of-two found fame on the X Factor in 2005 and made it to the quarter-finals on the ITV show.
A year later, the star had a number one hit on the UK charts called “It’s Chico Time.”
Chico has also starred in ITV’s Dancing On Ice in 2012 and came third in the hit skating competition.
Since, he has appeared on several reality TV shows and has told his 15-year-old daughter not to go on a reality show like The X Factor.
The young girl who is following in her dad Chico’s footsteps as a singer/songwriter has been offered to star on The Voice but is currently studying at the Brit school.
Chico said he doesn’t want her “expose herself to the industry at such a young age.”
