A Place in the Sun viewers baffled as they learn cheap price of couple’s dream home

A Place in the Sun fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they found out the price of holiday home in Spain.

Couple Christine and Howard, from east Yorkshire, were looking for a one-bed home around Vera, in Almerica province.

Looking for a property with good outside space and a communal pool, they asked host Lee Juggurnauth to pick five properties that fit within their budget.

Lee surprised the couple with a two-bed home in a building complex in Los Gallardos and it nearly brought Christine to tears.

She was over the moon to see a communal pool and the beautiful blue and white colour palette around the complex.

Lee showed them a ground floor apartment that came with a bigger kitchen and traditional Spanish tilings.

He said: “Everything you’ve asked me, this property has. Bearing in mind you’re getting a lot of your money here.

“The property here is on the market for just over £51,000.”

After a look of the property, Christine called it a “home from home”, praising Lee: “You’ve delivered it, I love it a lot.”

She added: “It’s wonderful, it’s home from home. Whoever it belongs to, there’s been a lot of love and care put into it.”

Howard told Lee that it’s a “definite contender” for them.

And viewers were surprised by the price of the two-bed property.

One shared: “£51,000 for a home. Unbelievable. I heard a new Skoda is £48k the other day!”

“Again this gaff looks great for the money! Do wish they would say the communal fees are each time!” another tweeted.

After the viewings, the couple decided to make an offer on the two-bed apartment and went with a low offer of £43,000.

Howard explained they wanted to put a walk-in shower and set up a sun awning, as well as heating in the flat.

The owner, after two rounds of bargain, agreed to sell at £47,000.

Christine sobbed when Lee congratulated them on a new life in the sun.
