Adrian Chiles has admitted he may launch his own OnlyFans account if his career goes belly-up.
The presenter, 55, said he was “horrified” when a story last week claimed a fat former social worker called Mike from Leeds had been raking in £1,000 a day eating crumpets naked and reading out Adrian’s newspaper columns on the X-rated platform.
The host said about “never saying never” to doing likewise: “My emotional response to all this has taught me a few things about myself, good and bad. Mostly bad.

“It must say something awful about me that I can’t shake off a distinct feeling of pride.
“I put this down to an inherent lack of self-esteem, mixed into a heady cocktail of twisted vanity.
“If I found out the story was entirely made up, I’d be relieved but also a little disappointed.
“And finally, I must admit I did think, if only briefly, that this chap’s making a grand a day, and if things went very wrong for me – well, never say never.”
It comes after fans claimed Adrian was “fishing” for his old job as the host of BBC’s The One Show.
He appeared on the sofa back in January, where he spoke to hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas about his new book The Good Drinker: How I Learned to Love Drinking Less.
But fans were quick to comment when they noticed him interview fellow guest Naomi Ackie, prompting them to claim he was trying to show off his presenting skills.
One wrote: “Adrian Chiles fishing for his old job back here?? #TheOneShow.”
A second added: “Nice to see Adrian Chiles interviewing Naomi Ackie, despite being a guest haha. He was one of the orignal presenters @BBCTheOneShow #TheOneShow”
A third penned: “Adrian Chiles looks like he’s just been woken up after sleeping behind #TheOneShow couch for over 12 years.”
Adrian hosted the BBC show from 2007 until 2010 before moving on to other TV ventures.
The broadcaster co-presented both The One Show and Daybreak with Loose Women’s Christine Lampard.
He has since gone on to front ITV’s football coverage.
