BBC Breakfast was thrown into chaos on Friday morning (November 24) when its hosts were rushed out of the building during an evacuation.
Viewers were left wondering what had happened when the show was dramatically pulled from air and replaced with BBC News for several minutes without warning. Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were hosting the show but were forced to leave the studio abruptly.
The show was in the middle of a news report in Bristol marking 20 years since Concorde’s final flight. But shortly after their reporter took a tour around the iconic plane, the show was taken over by BBC News, where a reporter in Beirut was discussing the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Luckily, all seemed okay as they returned to the red sofa. Naga said: “You’re returning to BBC Breakfast. Apologies, we had an evacuation in the building, but we are back now with you to keep you up to date with the latest in the news.”
But viewers were clearly concerned because they headed over to X, formerly Twitter, to try and make sense of what had gone on. One asked: “What’s suddenly happened to #BBCBreakfast? We have @BBCNews on!?”
Another wrote: “Where has bbc breakfast gone?? Naga and team?? What is this takeover, you were just in the middle of a Concord segment!?” A third joined in: “@BBCBreakfast why am I now watching your world news programme? No explanation, just cut to World News for no reason.”
Another viewer pointed out a graphic blunder had been missed. They claimed the re-directed BBC Breakfast programme was still displaying graphics to do with the Concorde report even though the reporter in Beirut was on screen.
It meant the graphics and news report didn’t match at all. They wrote: “When the feed from BBC Breakfast inadvertently cuts to the World News Feed during a report on Concorde, but the original graphics keep going…”

They weren’t the only one who noticed. “Does @BBCBreakfast realise its cut to @BBCBreaking and still showing Concorde credits?”, wrote another.
It’s been reported that the presenters were evacuated due to a fire alert, although this is yet to be confirmed. Daily Star has contacted the BBC for comment.
