BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst tells Jon Kay he's 'ruined' it as he makes Teletubbies jibe

BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst was quick to tell off her co-host Jon Kay as he made a Teletubby reference on the show.

During Tuesday morning’s show, 42-year-old Nina took her time to describe the tranquil scenes from Buckinghamshire where the sun was rising.

She said: “Look at that, the sun creeping through the clouds as they clear. A little bit of mist, a lit bit of condensation clearing.”

But as she described the scenes and the camera panned to the sun, Jon jokingly said: “I expected the Teletubby baby to come out the sky then.”

Nina replied: “Oh just ruin the moment Jon, why don’t you?”

He added: “That’s my poerty for you,” as he compared Nina to romantic poet William Wordsworth.

Jon, who usually presents the morning show alongside Sally Nugent from Monday to Wednesday, has been joined by Nina this week during the Easter school half-term.

But the jovial presenter left Nina stunned when he jokingly threatened that he would leave her to host the programme on her own.

On Monday’s show, Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank who plays vicar Billy Mayhew and Peter Ash who plays Paul Foreman appeared on the famous red sofas.

While discussing the upcoming storylines, Nina revealed that Jon had never been on the legendary Corrie set.

As the actors offered him a tour, Jon said: “Shall we all go?” before he turned to Nina and asked: “Are you alright hosting on your own?”

Nina replied with enthusiasm and said: “Yeah, should be fine. Honestly, going to the Rovers Return for the first time – what a feeling!”

The news comes after Nina recently announced that she is expecting her third child with her husband Ted.

Previously speaking about her pregnancy journey, Nina took to Instagram last month to wish her fans a happy Mother’s Day.

Sharing picture of herself holding her blossoming baby bump, she said: “Happy Mother’s Day to all of those who are any part of this endless handover of love, values, genes, chaos and perpetually crumb-infested kitchens.

“I’d like to say ‘you got this Mama!’ But maybe you haven’t. I dunno. It’s hard isn’t it?”

“I am settling in to the middle chunk (emphasis on chunk ) and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature and her tiny kicks and flutters.”
