It comes almost a year after she confirmed her divorce which saw her change her name from Victoria Fritz, and now she’s looking for another change in her life, which is seeing her head back to university.
Speaking on her Instagram Stories, Victoria told her followers it was “about time” she gave them an update on her life.
She said: “I wanted to let you in on something I’ve been thinking about and working towards for some time now. I am taking a little bit of a break from broadcasting and from the BBC in order to explore something new.
“So I – at the grand old age of 39 – going back to university. I am enrolled in a full time masters course, psychological sciences which I’ve kind of sold to my parents as a bit of neuroscience with some thinking and feeling stuff attached to it.”
Victoria explained she’s going to be looking into how the mind works, adding to her followers: “You can probably understand why that would appeal and be something I’m interested in.
“Should that all go well and I’m not terrible at it, I’ll be looking to progress and do a doctorate. Perhaps four years from now you’ll be looking at Dr Valentine.”
She addressed the “loss” of losing her audience and BBC which she said was “really sad” for her.
Victoria explained the new career means she’ll probably have to leave the countryside and her beloved garden which she regularly shares on Instagram to be near university.
The TV favourite also confirmed her final days on the channels, adding: “I’ve got a month left of the odd shift at BBC News and I’ve got some shifts at BBC Breakfast too.
“I’ll be on the red sofa this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, so do join me for that.”
She finished the clip by asking her followers to wish her luck as she prepares to say goodbye in the coming weeks.
BBC Breakfast continues weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
