Tess Daly has reunited with her husband Vernon Kay after he completed a 115-Ultramarathon to raise money for Children In Need.
Last week, the radio presenter, 49, kicked off his ambitious four-date route on from Leicester’s Victoria Park to his hometown in Bolton. The grissly challenge saw him tackle the ‘killer’ Kinder Scout mountain in the heart of the Peak District.
The TV presenter then ran Derby and Hope before he arrived in Manchester. It’s fair to say his impressive achievement received a wave of support from across the nation.

His grand total cash raised for the charity has even surpassed the £6million mark. After his incredible feat, the doting dad has reunited with his loving family who are “so proud” of his work.
On Tuesday (November 21), his wife Tess, 54, reunited with the exhausted runner and celebrated his incredible achievement with a family party at home. Taking to Instagram, the Strictly presenter shared a gushing tribute to her loving partner.
The star posted a sweet message of support as she revealed how proud she and their two daughters are of him. She wrote: “Not to get all sentimental on here but we are so proud of @vernonkar and all he’s achieved and raised for @bbccin [crying emoji].”
When the TV star first found out about his decision to run the ultramarathon, the entire family were “shocked”. She went on: “When he first said he was running 116 miles in 4 days for charity, we were shocked to say the least (and genuinely wondered if his knees would make it through).
“But with every day he accomplished more and more miles; supported along the way by the amazing and always inspiring @bbcradio2 listeners who got behind him on his journey and were BEYOND generous with their donations, their cuddles, high 5’s and homemade cakes [yellow heart emoji].
“I know he could not be more grateful. Been loading him up since with soup, hot water bottles and cuddles [red heart emoji].” The 2023 Children In Need appeal raised over £35million – thanks to the joint effort of viewers up and down the country giving generously.
As of Thursday (November 23), Vernon has raised a total of £6,059,488 for Children in Need. It comes after the presenter confessed his body is “shot to bits” as he returned to his day job at Radio Two on Wednesday (November 22).
On his first day back in the office, the host was welcomed with confetti, a celebratory cake and a special artwork gift from illustration artist Lucy Claire Dunbar. The impressive piece featured Vernon and Pudsey the Bear as he returned for his 9.30am slot.

Minutes into the show, Vernon told his co-star Zoe Ball how his body was still “achy” days after the race. Zoe said: “You look way too good! How’s the bod after that incredible accomplishment, young man?”
Vernon replied: “Well my Achilles is shot to bits, that’s completely gone. I’ve got to have a little bit of work on that.
“The knees are achy, calves are sore, thighs and quads, gluteus maximus is a little bit achy as well. But that’s to be expected. And apart from that… we raised 6 million quid!’”
