Things were heating up during BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola appeared to almost kiss.
The fiery couple have been riding high in the competition so far with former Coronation Street star Ellie showcasing her impeccable dance moves on the floor. And away from the show, fans have been speculating whether their relationship is more than friends as they continue to remain “close”.
But on Saturday night’s show, Ellie and Vito set tongues wagging as they got hot and steamy on the dance floor. Dancing the Argentine Tango to Destiny’s Child’s Bills Bills Bills, the couple put on a spellbinding performance that ended in a near kiss.

As their performance came to an end, fans headed straight over to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts. One stunned viewer said: “Ellie and Vito totally nearly kissed on national TV.”
Another said: “Thought they kissed there.” While a third asked: “Was that a real kiss?!”
After their racy routine, Ellie and Vito received mixed reviews from the judges with Craig Revel Horwood stating that he thought it lacked “intimacy”. But fans were clearly confused by Craig’s comment and took to X to defend the pair.
One impressed fan said: “Every week I re-watch Ellie & Vito’s dances over and over… this week shall be no different. What are the judges on…. ALL their dances for the last few weeks have been 40’s. This one made me stop breathing!!”
Another echoed:” I am so confused because honestly if someone asked me to use two adjectives to describe Ellie and Vito’s Argentine Tango it was ‘intense’ and ‘intimate’. Oh, and ‘perfect’.
A third fan wrote: “Ellie and Vito should have got 40; the only things that took away a bit of intimacy & intensity were actually the song choice and the lighting, which were a bit frenetic and distracting. The dance itself was exceptional.”
Meanwhile, another agreed: “Best dance of the night from Ellie and Vito. Finally some steps and choreography. Everything else has been a bit wafty and blah.”
Since Stircly returned to screens in September, Ellie and Vito have been caught in a whirlwind of rumours as many believe they could be a couple. However, although the pair are “close” they haven’t confirmed anything romantic between them.
