Benedict Cumberbatch looked unrecognisable from his usual dapper self as he donned a huge furry monster costume to run through the streets of New York City.
The Sherlock alum donned a huge beige and turquoise mascot suit complete with fluffy blue feet and gloves – minus the head – as he tromped through the city on set of his new Netflix project.
Also in attendance was Gaby Hoffmann, star of Sleepless in Seattle, who wowed in a green trench coat, knee-high leather boots and a bundle of scarves despite the summer heat.

She was seen handing out missing posters as the pair worked on the new limited series Eric this week.
Later, Benedict looked much more himself as he dressed down in a long brown woollen coat and a grey scarf, worn over a green t-shirt and blue denim jeans.
He added a pair of beaten up white trainers and a beige satchel worn over one shoulder, adding a pair of rimless glasses and sporting a ginger goatee.
The Dr Strange star is starring as puppet maker Vincent in the new series, set in 1980s New York, who is searching for his missing son Edgar.
Vincent becomes convinced he can bring Edgar home by getting his drawing of a blue monster puppet – named Eric – on TV. But his behaviour becomes more and more destructive.
Gaby, meanwhile, plays Vincent’s wife Cassie, while the series also stars Amy Louise Pemberton, John Doman and Jeff Hephner.
Created by Abi Morgan, the show’s official synopsis reads: “As Vincent’s progressively destructive behavior alienates his family, his work colleagues, and the detectives trying to help him, it’s Eric, a delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the pursuit to bring his son home.

“Eric is a dark and crazy journey into the heart of 1980’s New York, and the good bad and ugly world of Vincent, a genius puppeteer on one of America’s leading kids TV shows.”
Filming has also been taking place in Budapest, Hungary – which will be doubling for New York in certain scenes.
Eric is reportedly hitting the streaming site later this year, though no official release date has been set.
Later, Benedict will be starring in another Netflix series based on Roald Dahl’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
