Big Brother star has emergency surgery after ‘life threatening spinal tear’

Celebrity Big Brother 2013 finalist Lauren Harries had to have an emergency surgery due to a “life-threatening spinal tear”.

The 45-year-old reality TV star has spent over three months in the hospital and underwent brain surgery in April after suffering with a mystery condition.

She later contracted infections and was placed in an induced coma due to having suffered severe seizures.

Unfortunately, child antiques expert Lauren has continued to experience spinal issues after a recent operation was unsuccessful.

Lauren’s mum has now confirmed that her daughter is in “constant pain” and is “unable to walk” in a health update.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (July 19), Lauren’s mum said: “We were informed yesterday that Lauren has a life-threatening spinal tear,” she said.

“She is having emergency surgery today, the first of two operations. This has meant she is in constant pain and unable to walk it could also lead to more bleeding on the brain.

“She has been through so much in her 3 1/2 months in hospital, this is her 3rd operation. She’s strong but needs your love.

“We are praying that they are successful and hope you do the same.”

Lauren’s mum has previously revealed how heartbroken she is at seeing her daughter in hospital, describing it as “terrifying.”

Sharing a clip of Lauren after her first surgery, she said: “One of the scariest experiences of a mother’s life, seeing your child hurting. All I wanted to do was swap places with Lauren.”

“This is just after her brain surgery, even then we had no idea if we’d ever get our Lauren back again.

“Seeing her like this was terrifying.

“She has been so brave and I am so proud of her for all she’s been through.”
