Bobby Brazier issued stern warning by famous dad ahead of Strictly Come Dancing debut

Bobby Brazier has been issued a warning by his dad Jeff ahead of his Strictly Come Dancing debut.

The actor, 20, best known for playing Freddie Slater on EastEnders, will be swapping Albert Square for sequins next month.

It was confirmed last week that Bobby will be taking part in the 21st series of the glitzy BBC One show, joining the likes of Adam Thomas, Zara McDermott and Les Dennis.

And it seems his dad Jeff, who appeared on Dancing On Ice in 2011, is totally behind Bobby’s appearance on Strictly.

Jeff told The Mirror: “I’m really proud of Bobby and the attitude he has had since he’s been on EastEnders. He’s wanted to absorb as much from all the incredibly experienced actors around him. He’s made a really good start to his career, and I can see he’s proud of himself, too.”

He went on: “I can see every time I switch it on that he’s got better… I’m no acting expert, I can’t say how good he is, but I’m really proud of my son. He’s had an opportunity and he’s taken it.”

However, he did warn Bobby, who is the son of Jeff and late Big Brother star Jade Goody, that the Strictly ride isn’t exactly an easy one.

He said: “It’s going to be really difficult, he’s going to have to really dig in. There’s a lot to learn, then you forget it all and there’s another routine!”

As the news of Bobby’s Strictly gig was announced on BBC Breakfast, Bobby was asked how he felt about doing a huge TV show like his mum.

You are following in her footsteps, what does that feel like?” asked host Jon Kay.

He replied: “Um, I don’t really know.

“I just know I am just taking some of the opportunities that come my way and Strictly was always going to be a ‘yes’ just because learning to dance is something I have always wanted to do.”

Bobby said it would also be exciting learning to perform in front of so many people.

The actor was just five when TV star Jade passed away in 2009 at the age of 27 after battling cervical cancer.

His little brother Freddie was four.
