Britney Spears has branded the welfare checks a “joke” after authorities visited her home due to a disturbing video that the star posted dancing with knives.
The Toxic hitmaker took to social media last week and posted a video where she was dancing with two knives as her two little dogs watched on. The star later assured her fans that the knives weren’t real but some people seemed to not believe her.
Due to a reported concern from “someone close” to the star, The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department went to “check” on Brit and determined that she was fine. Britney did apologise for ‘spooking’ fans with the seemingly real knife-wielding moves and has taken to Instagram to post a new update.

The star wrote: “‘Is it a joke in the news again with welfare checks??? Come on America … we cooler than that, right ???” Britney wrote the picture alongside a picture of a ballerina balancing on knives.

Britney continued: “The officers came to my home and said they would not leave until they spoke to me as people do 4-minute performances with them. I am getting an apology. I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now…ITS ENOUGH! Don’t talk about it, come on, let’s DO !!!
“As my mom does the silent treatment when paps ask questions about her own daughter as if I’m in the wrong…nope it’s an old game. People need to be responsible for their actions! It’s about power for cops.”

After posting the scary video The Princess of Pop later took to social media and said: “Lighten up about the knives. I’m copying Shakira.” The Oops… I Did It Again songstress was referencing Shakira’s performance at the MTV VMAs earlier this month where she performed with a knife.
In a later edited caption, Britney clarified that the knives were “not real” explaining “Halloween is soon.” Some people were concerned due to reports that the pop star has a “fascination” with knives.

Reports claimed that those close to her “prepared a list of recommendations” after her conservatorship ended. One of those recommendations was to “keep knives away from her.”
A documentary even claimed Britney sleeps with a knife under her bed as she is terrified of someone coming into her home in the middle of the night, “strapping her to a gurney and taking her to a psych ward.”
