Craig Phillips has confessed that he wouldn’t take part in ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover now while admitting that he didn’t enjoy the direction Big Brother was heading.
The 51-year-old, who became the first winner of Big Brother UK in the year 2000, went on to have a stellar career and has showcased his building skills on a number of well-known TV shows.
Craig has also continued to work in the building trade as is now an ambassador for paint brand, Frenchic.

But while talking exclusively to Daily Star, Craig admitted that although he enjoyed working on popular daytime show 60 Minute Makeover, he wouldn’t be able to do it now.

Sharing his thoughts on the logistics of the series, Craig confessed that it became “challenging” due to the amount of travelling required.
He said: “Now I’m married and I’ve got two young children, that are two and four years of age… I couldn’t do it.
“It’s challenging on your body and mind with all the travelling and staying away, it just wouldn’t work for me now really.”
The star also went on to state that he believes his audience is now mostly online and he often finds it easier to work from home.

As well as providing his thoughts on the makeover programme, Craig also shared his opinions on Big Brother and the return of the brand new series.
Despite being a fan of the show, Craig revealed that he tuned off after series six as he didn’t enjoy the direction the show was going.
He said: “My view on Big Brother, when it was with Channel 4 for the first 10 years, I felt it certainly got to show six or seven when I felt it run its course and it needed to step back a little bit.
“I didn’t generally like the direction it was going in.”
He added: “Then I was kind of glad it ended because it needed to end, I felt like it had exhausted the whole format of where else can it go really.”

Craig then shared that he thought Channel 5’s reboot was a “little too soon” and it should have stayed off air for a bit longer.
But despite his previous reservations, Craig is delighted that the show will now air on ITV2.
The TV personality said: “I think [ITV] are the right people to do it and to bring a different sense to it.”
“After five years not seeing, I must say I’m a little bit excited now,” he added.
