Dancing to Zero to Hero from the Hercules movie, Joey was even dressed as Hercules as he skated and danced.
But after performing a show-stopping and very fun routine and bagging four 10s, fans were up in arms.
One fan asked: “What’s the point in the judges scoring this? Joey Essex was almost on the floor then and they give him a 10?”
“So Joey Essex got 4 10’s .. didn’t they see him stumble, out of time? The judges must be blind,” penned a second.
A third then added: “Joey slipped right at the end but still got 10s.”
While a fourth penned: “Joey nearly fell over twice how was that a 10.”
And a fifth asked: “Joey did well. Is it 10 worthy though?”
Despite some fans not happy that Joey got four tens, there were many that thought he was a worthy recipient of the high score.
“Wow well done again Joey and Vanessa that was such a brilliant routine from you both and Zero To Hero is such an amazing song from Hercules! It’s definitely a perfect 10 from me as well,” penned one.
While another said: “Joey gets a 10 for the music and outfit alone. Seriously though, I do love him he’s precious.”
Despite some people not being happy about Joey’s high score, he ended up making it through to the final stage of the final, leaving The Vivienne falling at the final hurdle.
Performing the Bolero with Vanessa Bauer, Joey wowed viewers before the audience decided on who would win out of him and Nile Wilson.
