Danniella Westbrook says Dancing On Ice needs 'b*tchy' judging panellist to return

Danniella Westbrook says Dancing On Ice is missing a “b*tchy” judge on the panel.

When talking about her time on the show exclusively to the Daily Star, Danniella said she loves the panel now but it is missing a certain “straight-talking” member.

The EastEnders icon starred on the show in 2010 when the panel consisted of enters Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, Robin Cousins and Emma Bunton.

Nowadays, the judging panel features Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo.

Danniella, 49, said: “I like the dynamic of the panel now and it’s a lot harder now competition-wise as the skater quality is so much better, but I think the panel really works. The guy from Diversity really works but I do miss a bit of Jason.

“I speak to him a lot, I love Jason and I love what he brought to the show because he’s so free with his speech, and he was a choreographer and dancer for years, and can skate as well. So, his criticism was never unjust and was always on point.”

When asked if she thinks the show is missing a “straight-talking and b*tchy judge”, she replied: “Yeah, I think we need a little bit of that. I also loved Emma Bunton as a judge, I thought Emma was great and I do miss robin being on the panel but that’s just what I’m used to.”

Danniella also recalled her “sexy secretary” Dancing On Ice outfit that she took home.

Talking about her costume, she said: “That’s it, that’s when I had a chair with wheels on it. I loved that week.

“I got through every week playing a different character. I did Grease and a Kelly Clarkson number, we just tried to tell a story every week with it.

“I’ve got all of my outfits from Dancing On Ice, they let me keep them all. I shouldn’t really say that as you’re not meant to do that.

She added: “The girls have dressed up in them when they were smaller and a few of my drag friends have worn them to Pride which has been quite good. But no, I haven’t worn them.

“I wanted to frame one of them, it had loads of gemstones in when I skated to Kelly Clarkson but I never got around to doing it. They’re all in my mum’s loft somewhere.”
